It seems that the excitement of Visiting Author Day lives on when students have a chance to buy books. I am happy sign students' books. Signing works well if books are pre-sold and organized by class and with Post-it notes stuck to the top of the signing page with the name of the student (first name only) for whom I'm signing the book. If I sign between presentations, it's helpful for me to have someone open books for me. I'm also happy for kids to line up for me to sign their books.
